Singer/Dancers

Vocal:

Bring a prepared selection to sing and a copy of the sheet music for the accompanist. It may be any song of your choosing. Please note that it is strongly preferred that you use a live accompanist (piano) for your audition. A professional accompanist will be available. You may bring your own accompanist, if you prefer. Please dress appropriately for an audition (no jeans, t shirts, etc.)

Dance:

You'll be given time to change for your dance audition. If possible, secure the front OR all your hair away from your face. Wear appropriate dance clothing and refrain from baggy clothes that would make it hard to see movement or inhibit you. A brief group dance combo is taught along with across the floor instructed movement. We will want to see your unique style of movement through a freestyle section. If you are trained in any other dance style (tap, ballet pointe work, tumbling) we may ask you to demonstrate. Audition in what dance shoes you are comfortable wearing. If you do not have dance shoes, please wear tennis/activity type shoes that are not clunky or heavily treaded. ( that would make turning/jumping awkward or unsafe)

Instrumentalists

You must bring your own equipment including amplifiers where necessary and drum set. An acoustic piano will be provided, but keyboard players who have their own synthesizer or keyboard are welcome to bring it along. All instrumentalists will be required to play a prepared piece of choice and to sight-read. Please note that woodwind players must audition on both Alto and Tenor Saxophones, so please bring both with you. In addition, if you play clarinet or flute bring those instruments as well.
